At the Table with J.P. - A Need for Change Anyone?
A NEED FOR CHANGE, ANYONE?
Ever since humans appeared in this world, change has become inevitable and constant.
Change typically includes transformation, transition, or substitution. Humans primarily undergo physical, behavioral, and spiritual changes during their lifetimes. Some changes are within or beyond our control but usually have predictable and similar results. Acceptance or refusal to change may yield favorable or unfavorable outcomes.

Many people resist change because of fear, uncertainty, or a desire to avoid discomfort or separation. Some people refuse to leave a place of low esteem because it is their comfort zone, no matter how unsuitable it may be. Taking a leap of faith into the unknown to discover great opportunities requires boldness, faith, courage, and, above all, trusting God with our future.
Many books have been written with numerous examples of bold and courageous people who made great and significant contributions to society. Great stories are also written in the Bible about people just like us. We read of Moses, Joshua, and King David, for example, who experienced divine change and completed exceptional assignments for God. They then became renowned trailblazers in their generations.
We also could follow the path of many outstanding persons, male and female, who throughout history left great legacies following significant life changes—especially spiritual changes.
Many people live below their full potential. The primary causes are rooted in wrong beliefs, thinking, and behavior due to a lack of knowledge of God, their Creator. They oppose having a strong relationship with Him and His Word. Instead, such persons choose to put their hope, care, trust, and attention on man and other false gods that cannot provide complete satisfaction or eternal life. Others rely on their education, skills, experience, and willpower to try and achieve the ultimate change that would supposedly get them from this earthly realm to the heavenly realm. These are all futile in God’s sight and will ultimately have tragic endings.
The conduct of our life should be deeply rooted in the spirit-life examples of Jesus Christ. His life was continuously filled with wisdom, love, knowledge, divine habits, and beliefs that originated from God, who is our ultimate Father. Jesus was exposed to every possible human temptation, sin, and shortcoming of man. He faced every type of difficulty, ungodly choice, temptation, and decision common to man during His life on earth. He, however, always responded in a wise, perfect, and flawless manner. He also earned the privilege to become our Savior and Lord forever.
The Bible offers the best-practice advice for personal change. Life changes should be based on God’s Word and guidance by the Holy Spirit. God the Father has a heavenly plan for our earthly living so we can live victoriously. Victorious living is not necessarily without challenges or hardships, but a life in which we overcome and win with God’s continuous help.
We all have the great privilege of asking God our Father to take His rightful place in our hearts. May we all agree to do so without further hesitation, doubt, or delay so we can achieve everlasting godly change for the upcoming eternity.
Love, obey, serve God, and enjoy building a strong relationship with Him.
